It was with sheer excitement that I had the opportunity to review Tom Robinson at The 100 Club. This legendary genius still has all the oomph and stamina and gave us all a thrilling and sophisticated set.
His stunning smoky voice still carries and leaves the audience in awe. His band were right behind him and added to the the crystal clear sounds flying off the stage.
Tom first established his career with The Tom Robinson Band in 1976. This multi-talented front man is also the songwriter and bassist. He presents his own radio show for the BBC. Danny Kustow was on electrifying form too and is from the original Tom Robinson Band line-up.
It was a real treat to hear 2-4-6-8 Motorway (40th Anniversary) and Glad to be Gay these are two of my favourite hits. The whole show took me on a proper trip down memory lane. Tom exudes pure magic through his whole performance and he shows his history of showmanship through all of his numbers. Thank you Mr Robinson for a top night.
